• Learner’s permit
– Valid for 1 year
– Must drive with a licensed PA driver at least 21 years of age
– Supervising driver must sit in front seat
– May not drive between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
– May not carry more passengers than seat belts
• Junior License
– May not drive between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. unless parent/guardian is with you
– Some exceptions: employment, public or charitable service, volunteer fire fighter
– May not carry more passengers than seat belts
– Mandatory 90 day suspension with 6 or more points or if convicted of driving 26 mph over speed limit
• Conversion to a regular license after 1 year of a junior license requires:
– Passing a PA approved driver training course
– Not being involved in a crash in which you are partially or fully responsible
– Not being convicted of any traffic violation
– Consent from parent/guardian
• Junior license automatically becomes a regular license at age 18
